Welcome Jacob Stubbs to the Center for Brain Circuit Therapeutics Brigham and Women's Hospital Brigham and Women's Neurology. Mass General Brigham. Very excited to work with you!

Our team's latest: a multiyear prospective study with monthly assessments looking at #TBI among individuals who are homeless or precariously housed. Establishing the striking epidemiology before we dive into more detailed studies on imaging, outcomes, etc thelancet.com/journals/eclin…

The word "causal" is so controversial I often avoid it in papers / grants, but it's critical for translating brain mapping research into treatments. Honored to partner with Shan Siddiqi @shansiddiqi.bsky.social Josef Parvizi Kording Lab 🦖 to explore this concept in Nature Rev Neurosci nature.com/articles/s4158…

New paper from the Center out today in Nature Medicine: using causal lesions to explain heterogeneous imaging findings and identify new therapeutic targets for addiction. The future of (certain types of) neuroimaging in translational medicine is exciting!

Finally home! Spent most of the year in Boston and then spent last month in rural BC for Katie’s rural med school rotation. Very thankful to Michael Fox and the Boston group for taking me in - now it’s time to finish up manuscripts, the PhD, and head onto new adventures!

Check out some of our recent work at the abiresearchlab speaker series next week:

144 MRI studies of addiction identified different brain regions - but could they all be seeing the same brain circuit? New paper by Jacob Stubbs Center For Brain Circuit Therapeutics says YES - one circuit across different substances of abuse. nature.com/articles/s4422…

Amazing effort by Jacob Stubbs & Michael Fox as a great follow up to the recent Nature Medicine paper – congratulations!
