It was the first party to which Roo had ever been, and he was very excited. He began to talk and Kanga said, “Drink up your milk first, dear, and talk afterwards.” So Roo tried to do both at once... and had to be patted on the back and dried. ~A.A.Milne #FridayFeeling

One day Rabbit and Piglet were sitting outside Pooh’s front door, and Pooh was sitting with them. It was a drowsy summer afternoon, and the Forest was full of gentle sounds, which all seemed to be saying to Pooh, “Don’t listen to Rabbit, listen to me.” ~A.A.Milne #heatwave

They played Poohsticks. And Eeyore, who had never played before, won more times than anybody else; and Roo fell in twice, the first time by accident and the second time on purpose, because he saw Kanga coming from the Forest, and he knew he’d have to go to bed anyhow. ~A.A.Milne

Piglet was still a little anxious about Tigger, who was a very Bouncy Animal, with a way of saying How-do-you-do, which always left your ears full of sand, even after Kanga had said, “Gently, Tigger dear,” and had helped you up again. ~A.A.Milne #TuesdayFeeling

Tigger told Roo all about the things that Tiggers could do. “Can they fly?” asked Roo. “Yes,” said Tigger, “they’re very good flyers, Tiggers are. Strornry good flyers.” “Oo!” said Roo. “Can they fly as well as Owl?” “Yes,” said Tigger. “Only they don’t want to.” ~A.A.Milne

"I found courage in the countryside, in nature. Being alone never frightened me, even at night, provided I was in contact with my surroundings - with the grass underfoot, with the dim shapes of trees and distant mountains. This was what I clung to." ~C.R.Milne #FridayFeeling

Piglet told himself that never in all his life, and he was goodness knows HOW old - three, was it, or four? - never had he seen so much rain. “If only,” he thought, as he looked out of the window, “I had been in Pooh’s house, then I would have had Company.” ~A.A.Milne #rain

Pooh took his largest pot of honey and escaped with it to a broad branch of his tree and then he climbed down again and escaped with another pot… and when the whole Escape was finished, there was Pooh sitting on his branch and beside him were ten pots of honey. ~A.A.Milne #rain

The emotional significance of objects sends ripples through our lives, which is why this is my final poem when I give a reading. It's taken from my second full collection, Whatever You Don't, Just Don't. If you fancy a signed copy, drop me a DM and I'll sort one out for you...

Let it rain! Who cares? I’ve a train upstairs, With a brake which I make From a string sort of thing. So that’s what I make, When the day’s all wet. It’s a good sort of brake But it hasn’t worked yet. ~A.A.Milne #MondayMotivation #rain

There happened to be passing by A plump man with a twinkling eye, Who, seeing Teddy in the street, Raised him politely to his feet, And murmured kindly in his ear Soft words of comfort and of cheer: “Well, well!” “Allow me!” “Not at all.” “Tut-tut! A very nasty fall.” ~A.A.Milne

Piglet explained to Tigger that he mustn’t mind what Eeyore said because he was ALWAYS gloomy; and Eeyore explained to Piglet that, on the contrary, he was feeling particularly cheerful this morning; and Tigger explained to anybody that he hadn’t had any breakfast yet. ~A.A.Milne
