As it’s 1st October today, I’m re-posting this massive thread I wrote last year. One writer and text I love for every day of #BlackHistoryMonth There are resources, links, images, videos and ideas which go alongside loads of these, too. Please share if you find it useful.

Today's the 957th anniversary of the Battle of Hastings, so obviously I'm reposting the scenes from the Bayeux Tapestry I made with Playmobil.

Here's a treat in the middle of a wet and windy winter: visit some of the best archaeological digs across the UK this year with a BRAND NEW series of #DiggingForBritain, starting tomorrow evening on BBC Two. Once again, with no trailers for this series, I'm hoping you can help

Last Christmas, I emailed the HA to propose an oral history competition for primary and so excited that it’s now come to fruition! What a great outcome this offers to a local history study&a great way to raise the profile of history! history.org.uk/primary/catego…

Discussion of #engagement has always been beset by imprecision about what is actually being referred to. Personally, I think it’s helpful to think about how we hold together an essential triangle of ā€˜attention’, ā€˜participation’ & (for want of a better term) ā€˜investment’. 1/n

Hi everyone, the lovely Primary History Matters is collecting some research on teaching disability history for a conference talk. Please could you all fill in this short survey about your school; it should take no more than 5 or so minutes. docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAI…

It’s been less than a hundred years since women in Britain have had the right to vote. This Manchester banner was unfurled in 1903 - it would be 25 years before the suffragettes’ dream was finally realised. Make sure you use that hard-won right today!
