Throw back to our annual PE and School Sport conference. A huge congratulations to grange Laurent Park Primary School who were the winners of the ‘Emerging School of the Year’ award

The next award was the Sunderland School Games PE and Sport Innovation Award and the winners of this were Ryhope Junior School congratulations to all!

Our ,commitment to School Games’ award went to the wonderful Barnwell Academy!

The Sunderland School Games ‘Active 60 School of the year’ was Richard Avenue Primary School Well done to all involved!

Our annual awards were presented by the inspirational Mrs Beavers from Highfield Primary who was also the recipient of the ‘Courage in the face of Adversity’ award.

Last school day of 2022! What a busy term it’s been! our calendar of events finished with snow tubing, hot chocolate and a visit from Santa for the following schools. A massive thank you to all at Silksworth Sports Complex and Ski Centre who have been fantastic!

Lots of fun was had at our Wildcats Girls Football festival on Friday afternoon! A huge thank you to Farringdon Community Academy for hosting, and Castle view enterprise academy for providing excellent sports leaders including the city’s outstanding Games Changer! #LetGirlsPlay

Another busy School Games day for Sunderland students with our Sports Leaders being ball girls at an international womens Tennis Tournament being held at Sunderland Tennis centre and now the first games are under way at The Beacon of Light for our Primary Netball League.

Our school Netball leagues are in full flow and we have teachers doing a CPD course today! Why not carry on the momentum and attend the half term holiday camp which is running at Farringdon Community Academy on Monday 20th February!

This week we had our Year 8/9 Girls Football Sunderland qualifier. 11 schools participated in a fantastic event. Congratulations to tony armstrong School and Oxclose Community Schoolwho will represent Sunderland at the Tyne and Wear Finals. Thank you to Kepier Football Academy for hosting

Year 7’s from Sandhill View, Kepier and Farringdon Community Academy PE Department enjoyed Dodgeball, Table Tennis and Football last night as part of our transition programme! Thank you to the local Clubs who supported with delivery and c4l Sunderland!

Last week over 500 children from Sunderland schools participated in our Year 5/6 Hockey festivals! Huge thanks to Sunderland Broom Hockey Club for their support and to @St_Aidans_RC and Kepier for providing sports leaders!
