The opening of the £200,000 playpark in Thorne Memorial Park recently is testament to the hard work and delivery of Thorne and Moorends Town Council staff, Local Councillors and volunteers. Local familes and children now have a state of the art play park in the local community.

Ward Councillors Susan Durant Joe Blackham and Mark Houlbrook are pleased that Thorne and Moorends will receive £7.6m funding to improve accessibility at Thorne North Station in 2026 A fully accessible station will make rail travel a viable option for more local people.
