Really appreciated this week's The Association for Paediatric Palliative Medicine research day, connecting with fab friends & colleagues in paediatric palliative care. Good to hear about ongoing research in such impactful and diverse areas, from students to profs! Thankyou Emily Harrop and team for an excellent day.

Stunning photos, thankyou. Foggy last time we did it, so we probably didn't realise how exposed it was ... Fog started clearing as we got to Cabo Girao.

For an informed decision re "assisted dying" -Must know 1) likely course of illness 2) the potential of early palliative care. This video explains illness trajectories in last years of life + potential of a palliative care. Help people to live + die well youtu.be/vS7ueV0ui5U

Anna and Pembroke College have just shared this news. A hard decision. In enormous gratitude for all that has been, and sharing Anna's 'yes' for what is to come 🎶 pem.cam.ac.uk/college/news/a…

Happy International Women's Day! Spotted at Worcester College, Oxford this wk. I was the 1st female student ('79): never expected the event to be so celebrated. I was then introduced to visiting 6th formers as a historical exhibit!! So grateful for trailblazing female friends & colleagues.

A common misperception. Palliative care staff have no vested interest in AD. There will always be work for us. What we DO have is experience of what matters most to dying people, as strength fails & uncertainty increases. Why are experts in EoL care opposing this Bill? Because ⬇️

I am a palliative care doctor who is not opposed to AD. But on the eve of tomorrow's vote, it boils down to this. Enshrining in law a state-funded right to die, while not enshrine a similar right to the palliative care that might make life worth living, is deeply wrong. 🧵
