Home: these aren’t my swifts but you get drawn in when they use your box,watched anxiously for half hour this eve,as this peregrine made a couple of attempt swoops at the swifts, not sure what the chances would be, but glad my pair come back to roost! Sussex Birding Lewes Swifts

Beachy Head: 2 Bee-eaters found by Andrew Whitcomb toured various locations on the headland early this morning before heading off west at 08.45hrs. 🔥 Sussex Birding

Eastbourne: Ringing details of a 3cy Caspian Gull present at the fish shack Saturday 5th July. Ringed in Holland in August 2023, re-sighted in Calais Nov 2024. Sussex Birding

11 joined me for the Sussex Ornithology walk at Rye Harbour Nature Reserve today. My walk tally of 37 sp. incl’d Tern: Common, Little & Sandwich; waders: Avocet; Common Sandpiper; Dunlin; Greenshank; Redshank; Ringed Plover; Turnstone. The star bird: 2 red breeding plumaged Curlew Sandpiper.
