Tonight I spoke to BBC London about yesterday’s action in Peckham which prevented a local constituent from being detained. There is rightly anger locally over the way our immigration system treats people.

Today is the 82nd birthday (17th June) of the last original purpose-built cinema theatre building left standing in Southwark Council 🎟️🎬 After some bomb damage during construction it eventually opened in 1940 as "The Regal" after the original plan was to name it "The Florida" 🌴🐊

Last night I attended the private view of Camberwell College of Arts’s student degree show. So much impressive and thought-provoking work. It’s open all week, if you’re in the area do take a look.

I fully support all workers on strike today, Unite on TfL & London Underground as well as RMT members on the railways across the country. We need a transport system with workers well paid, and passengers safe. I know who’s to blame for #ToryRailStrikes!
