@HowardManns inspired this #Speakeasy episode about Aussie slang. Not the nicest. But it is out there, so you'd better know. Use this knowledge for good not evil, and be kind. With Tom Baddeley on ABC Perth. Thanks Jackson and Brad for production. abc.net.au/radio/perth/pr…

Spent the morning with #ECUSpeech students on the Edith Cowan University (ECU) wards for dysphagia and voice simulation assessments - amazing to see how much they have learned in the last year!

Our new paper is now available online! We (Suzanne Meldrum, Lucinda Snyman and I at #ECUSpeech Medical and Health Sciences at ECU) replicated and extended an intervention study for late talking toddlers based on cross situational statistical learning procedures tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.10…

I had a great chat with Suki Sadik on ABC Weekend Evenings last Saturday. We talked about late talkers, when to worry and what parents can do. If you want to listen, here is the link. My segment is up first :) abc.net.au/listen/program…

This week is #NationalStrokeWeek and ECU is at the forefront of helping survivors live the best life possible. Brain Injury Yarning Circles support groups, which aim to help Aboriginal Australians and their families' wellbeing after a stroke.

Today I learnt so much working with Dr Marleen Westerveld and Prof Natalie Munro at sunny Griffiths Uni. Language transcription is changing and I'm trying to keep up! They were both so generous and patient with me. This Edith Cowan University (ECU) collaboration grant has been a fab opportunity.

The last (but certainly not the least) stop on my Edith Cowan University (ECU) collaboration grant was the fantastic team at Sydney Uni. They not had the patience to listen to me talk about The ORIGINS Project but we had a great chat over lunch. I've learned so much over this 5 days.

I invigilated a 3 hour exam yesterday. It was just lovely to see GenZ using pen and paper again. At the end of the 3 hours I said “congratulations on finishing, you missed a whole lot of stuff on TikTok though” and you could see them all flinch nervously.
