Ryan Florence MJ The pervasiveness of React. Things have grown so much since when people were willing to give different technology a chance. While the general web ecosystem is vast. The pool that is looking at this technology is dominated by React. We've gotten to a point where almost all of

Agree. React is the “nobody ever got fired for hiring IBM” of web frameworks You need a big huge advantage AND a revolution for this to change. React won by being the first to embrace JS compilers and modern ES6 features. Before that it was about the same as Backbone

"Ok but what actually happens" is the perfect question for technical interviews Great for day-to-day system design too.

I wish more devs understood the difference between source state (raw data; source of truth) and derived state (computed from it). The only "state management" you need for derived state is a pure function. Memoize if you need to.

I wish more engineers understood that numerical scale got super easy in the past 10 years. 300ms/request is zero-effort performance 40 cores is pretty cheap for a server That’s 10,400,000 requests per day. You’re fine.

Either you can design systems or you can’t. If you can’t don’t expect to succeed in any engineering roles. If you can learn to let go of language debates. Literally doesn’t matter they’re just tools. You need to learn the tools in abstract, not memorize npm commands.
