Community leaders across Citizens UK chapters at launch event for new report 'Rooted to Recognised: Unblocking the Pathway to Citizenship'. We call on MPs to take action for a more fair, timely & affordable pathway to #citizenship. The time for change is now.

Report by CitizensAdvice shows Statutory Sick Pay is single largest employment issue that people come to them with - with 50 cases a day and 1 in 5 needing charitable support, including access to a foodbank. It's time for #SafeSickPay theguardian.com/law/2024/nov/2…

Brilliant to see Johanna Baxter MP MP ask the Department for Business and Trade Minister about problems with the wording in the Employment Rights Bill that could see 1.3 million employees get less Statutory Sick Pay than they do now. We hope the Government can resolve this tinyurl.com/SSPLEL

"My partner and I had to claim sick pay...we couldn't pay our bills or afford food...which forced me to return to work so we could survive and not lose our home." Ashley's heartbreaking story in The Lead | theleaduk.substack.com shows we must raise #SickPay. Add your voice ⬇️ buff.ly/3WK9Qt6

Great to have authored this article for Oxfam Policy & Practice with The Centre for Progressive Change on the urgent need to raise Statutory #SickPay. Read more & find out how to take part in our day of action ⬇️🙏

Brilliant to meet with Afzal Khan MP MP today and to hear of his support for the #SafeSickPay campaign. Thank you Afzal - we're looking forward to working with you to ensure all employees have the #sickpay they need.

Great to be in Parliament today for a drop-in session! 🙌 Thanks to Baronesses Lister & Ritchie for sponsoring, supportive MPs, Amy MS Society UK & Lauren Young Lives vs Cancer for powerful stories, and all our partners calling together for #SafeSickPay.

Powerful words from Amy MS Society UK at this morning’s Parliamentary drop-in ⬇️ Her heartbreaking story shows why it is so urgent that the UK Government raises the rate of #StatutorySickPay. No one should be forced into work because sick pay is so low. We need #SafeSickPay now

Brilliant to meet with Darren Jones MP MP, Chief Secretary to the HM Treasury, today to discuss the economic benefits of increasing the rate of Statutory Sick Pay. Great contributions from UNISON - UK's largest union, CitizensAdvice, The Work Foundation, Resolution Foundation & WPI Economics

Thank you for signing our #SafeSickPay card Lillian Jones MP MP! It was great to see you at today’s Parliamentary drop-in and we're delighted to be working together to ensure all workers in Kilmarnock and Loudoun and beyond can access decent sick pay.

🚨 One third of a million employees - earning between £123- £146 per week, are now at risk of having their sick pay reduced. Hear from Amanda Walters from the #SafeSickPay campaign, with LBC radio, on why the Government must change its wording in the Employment Rights Bill.👂⬇️

Fantastic to be united outside UK Prime Minister & Department for Work and Pensions with many workers & organisations calling for a rise in Statutory Sick Pay including Mind, MS Society UK, Leukaemia Care, Clean For Good, Organise, Young Lives vs Cancer 🙌 📸 Sylvie Pope, #SafeSickPay campaign

Chris Law MP Grateful to hear Lorraine Beavers MP MP call on the Government to increase the rate of Statutory #SickPay and make sure all workers are benefitted by the removal of the Lower Earnings Limit. Changes must be made to protect 300,000 workers from cuts to their sick pay.

"If you are on £116 a week, how are you going to pay the bills?" Amanda Walters from #SafeSickPay, spoke to BBC London. She explains why more needs to be done to raise the rate, and protect hundreds of thousands of workers. 📢Have a listen. #ukpolitics #campaigns #sickpay

"Statutory sick pay is the lowest in Europe & the lowest paid have been excluded, meaning they cannot afford to stay home when sick. As we saw during COVID, that endangers public health." Great to hear Baroness O'Grady highlight in House of Lords the need for higher #SickPay!

Thank you Carmen Smith 🏴🇪🇺 for highlighting the need to address gaps in sick pay alongside improving gender equality. SSP at £3 an hour forces low paid workers - disproportionately women - to work during illness. Raising the rate of sick pay is crucial for building gender parity
