The Syracuse Police Department, in conjunction with the NYS Attorney General's Office and New York State Police, will host a gun buyback event this Saturday, April 12th, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will take place at St. Lucy's Church, located at 413 Gifford Street.

Our midnight shift honored our fallen hero, Officer Michael Jensen, last night by wearing the traditional police cap. Officers also sported mustaches to resemble Officer Jensen infamous look. We will continue to carry on Officer Jensens legacy within the department and community

Public Notice: Temporary No Parking Order for the 700 to 800 Block of East Genesee Street. Please be advised that parking will not be permitted between the 700 to 800 block of East Genesee Street beginning at 7:00 a.m. tomorrow, Monday, May 5th.

This order will remain in effect until 12:00 p.m. This temporary parking restriction is being put in place due to a large event being held at Forman Park and will remain in effect for a total of 5 hours.

Signage will be placed in the area tomorrow to notify drivers of the parking restriction. In addition to the parking restriction, a temporary lane closure will be in place for eastbound traffic on Genesee Street from Almond Street.
