Congratulations to @microbial_maeve of @MSU_MMG for winning the 2023 Center for Phage Technology award for best overall phage abstract! Apologies for tweeting out the incorrect award title earlier.

Congratulations to Zihao Yu of the Zeng lab at Texas A&M University for winning the 2023 Gisela Mosig award sponsored by New England Biolabs! Texas A&M AgriLife Research TAMU BCBP

Generously funded by Steffanie Strathdee, PhD 🗡️ 🦠Superbug Slayer🗡️ and Thomas Patterson to the CPT, the 2023 Thomas Patterson Graduate Fellowship goes to Zihao Yu from Lanying Zeng Lab. Zihao does single-cell studies of phage genome replication and infection mechanisms cpt.tamu.edu/thomas-l-patte…

Very excited to announce that the work lead by Lanying Zeng and Junjie Zhang is now online in Science!! The paper details the molecular mechanism of type IV pili detachment by ssRNA phage PP7, which may be common among other ssRNA phages science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…

Our undergrad student researcher Gabriella Ganser won the second place award at this year’s Texas A&M System Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (TAMUS LSAMP) Symposium held at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi! TAMUSLSAMP tamuslsamp.org/2024-tamus-lsa…

Truly greatful for the awesome support by PosterSmith to get our poster on time despite hurricane delays. Highly recommend their poster printing service! Several CPT members will attend Viruses of Microbes 2024 next week and looking forward to it!

Our own Jolene Ramsey is presenting the intriguing story of phage N4 lysis inhibition molecular mechanism at the wonderfully organized Viruses of Microbes 2024

Frankie Antillon (mentored by Ry Young, and working on single-gene lysis of ssRNA phages ) is the recipient of this year's Thomas L. Patterson Graduate Fellowship, a award funded by Steffanie Strathdee, PhD 🗡️ 🦠Superbug Slayer🗡️ and Thomas Patterson since 2019 to support PhD phage research at the Center for Phage Technology
