NEW #OpenAccess PAPER in RSC Advances about #cerianite and Ce #carbonates: "The role of nanocerianite (CeO2) in the stability of Ce carbonates at low-hydrothermal conditions" pubs.rsc.org/en/Content/Art… @scienceirel Geological Survey IE iCRAG Centre Trinity College Dublin School of Natural Sciences, Trinity College Dublin On The Rocks #REE

Funding for this study comes from "Frontiers for the Future" program by @scienceirel and Geological Survey IE, and the Trinity College Dublin's Provost PhD Awards program. Also Geological Survey IE funded the purchase of a new FTIR instrument (in the picture) that has been used to analyse some of the samples.

And here is the team that make this study possible, from left to right: Adrienn Maria Szucs, Melanie Maddin, Daniel Brien and Remi Rateau in the iCRAG Centre Lab Trinity College Dublin. #RareEarths #REE #crystallisation #criticalminerals #nanomaterials #loveirishresearch #research #Science

Excited to announce that I have been appointed as the new Director of the MSc in Energy Sciences (TCD_EnergyScience Trinity College Dublin), a collaborative program involving contributions from 4 leading schools (TCD_physics TCD School of Chemistry Trinity Engineering School of Natural Sciences, Trinity College Dublin).

I am delighted to announce that my PhD student Adrienn Szucs (Adrienn Maria Szucs) has just passed her viva with tiny minor corrections. Thanks to Robbie Goodhue and Dominique J. Tobler for a so interesting science discussion. School of Natural Sciences, Trinity College Dublin On The Rocks Trinity College Dublin iCRAG Centre

My PhD student Adrienn M. Szucs (Adrienn Maria Szucs) just passed her viva with minor corrections. Her research focuses on the interaction of #rareearths with Ca-Mg #carbonate #minerals. Results show beautiful #crystallisation reactions and mineral replacement processes. Awesome work.

A behind-the-scenes shot from this weeks filming on Myrtleville Beach, Cork, for the upcoming season of 10ThingstoKnowAbout New Decade TV with iCRAG PhD student Erica Terese Krueger @etk89 interviewed by Kathriona Devereux.

🌋Postdoc alert🌋 We are looking for a postdoc in computational fluid mechanics to join the #Critical_Ireland team - working on sulphide liquids in magmas!
