We completed a make over of our basement area in our building. This has created a modern feel for young people offering PCs, retro gaming machines, Xbox, drawing, social and chill spaces. This is in addition to our ground floor with pool table, kitchen, PS5 and our sensory room

We had a great summer, 26 different trips over the 6 weeks of the holidays with over 100 young people benefiting. #YouthWorkChangesLives

We have been fortunate that BBC Children in Need have generously supported us continuously since 2013, we are therefore delighted that we have been given a new 3 year grant continuing this support to 2027. This £90k grant supports our core costs and provides invaluable long term support.

Saturday fishing trip, valuable lesson in catching, preparing, cooking and eating your own food with lots of great conversations about trying new things. Working as a team organising everything and taking different roles contributing in their own ways.

We enjoyed delivering our third and final session of Detached Streetwork Training for Youth Scotland for this year. It’s always inspiring hearing about other youth workers work across the country and bringing people together to share practice and knowledge

We were at the National Youth Work Conference today #YLSConf24 the focus this year was about prevention and the important impact youth work makes Was very interesting listening to Paul Johnston CEO of Public Health Scotland highlighting the data supporting early interventions

Delighted to complete our new kitchen makeover with a huge thanks to the B&Q Foundation Frank of £10,000. Our new kitchen will allow us to continue to give food to young people and families on a nightly basis and provide a suitable space for life skills in cooking sessions.

This evening our 8 trustees were meeting in a strategy session to discuss TD1’s Business Plan for the next 3 years. Trustees are all volunteers and as the governors of TD1 they provide the vital checks and balances to ensure the charity is legal, sustainable and accountable.

We had a great time visiting the Trimontium Trust Museum in Melrose this weekend followed by a field visit in the snow!

Christmas over for another year, we were delighted we had around 50 young people in for Xmas Dinner. We also managed to provide presents to over 100 families before Christmas supporting those in our community who needed a little extra support. #YouthWorkChangesLives

Busy February, usual programme running, but also Feb holidays programme, Pokemon Day, resumption of our Walks and our Young Parents Group expanding 😮‍💨

Our building has undergone a little refurb, with new carpets, freshly decorated, new meeting space, new blinds and kitchen. All thanks to generous donations from funders we can invest in our building like this.

🎨Today we started a community project working in Langlee to give the underpass a makeover. Work will continue over the coming weeks getting the community involved, young and old to make it a statement piece in the area for all to enjoy!

We’ve been working on a community art project turning an underused underpass in Langlee into a vibrant bright space with young people leading on the project from start to finish. We couldn’t be prouder of the results they produced! #youthworkchangeslives
