It’s a thing that some Mets fans think we shouldn’t even be bringing up but when it was such a part of Soto’s game, it’s hard not to notice its disappearance. I myself have wondered whether it will make its reappearance tonight. #LGM

Before moving on to tonight’s Subway Series finale, allow me to share some residual joy from yesterday’s Mets win, as well as some people and stories it put me in mind of. #LGM faithandfearinflushing.com/2025/05/18/spr…

Within what I wrote, I hope you’ll click on some links that will take you to some tales involving a few treasured Met names, including one I hope you knew from his splendid podcasting and blogging, the late Mike Lecolant.

We recently lost Mike to ALS. He was a beautiful person who brought a gifted voice to his Mets-loving crafts. Read Mike on Tom Seaver and you’ll get what I mean. thebrooklyntrolleyblogger.blogspot.com/2020/09/stickb…

I miss Mike, and I thank Sam Maxwell for introducing him to me a bunch of years ago. As David Wright always said when warning us to not throw stuff on the field, Mets fans are the greatest fans in the world. Mets fan like Sam and Mike serve as two shining examples.

Took me way too long to truly understand how special David Wright was. Luckily, I came around before his career was cut short way too soon, but you don’t know what you got till it’s gone. Today is a very special day, and to those lucky enough to be there in person, soak it up.
