This mornings flash protest against RSE was called after Manorfield Primary released a statement. It rejected claims Manorfield is teaching about masturbation or pornography to kids. But said they will continue with lessons and they will include LGBT relationships.

My report from outside Manorfield Primary School in Tower Hamlets this morning.

Manorfield primary school RSE policy states both 'Ethnicity' and 'Culture' are 'to name just a few of the Protected Characteristics of the Equalities Act' Schoolboy error that doesn't instill much confidence. Whoever signed this policy off already has egg on their face.

A Parents of Manorfield  share the reason for the protest. It's important to take note that the DfE guidance mentions of 'meaningful consultations' to be carried out with school and parents. These consultations should be considerate of sensitivities including faith and culture etc. #RSE

Eight out of the nine governors at Manorfield Primary School are non Muslims, while the school's intake is majority Muslim.

This was sent to me by one of the Manorfield protesting parents. It pretty much reflects the back to front approach the school took to its RSE consultation process. I'd put my neck on the chopping block and say thousands of parents have had a similar type of experience.

POM has instructed lawyers to communicate to Manorfield Primary S putting the school on notice of possible legal action if the school fails to engage with parents and work together for a reasonable solution to the RSE concerns.
