The Infected Blood Inquiry has repeatedly made clear: victims need to be heard and supported. Everyone infected with HIV was a victim of unethical research. They deserve justice. We welcome Nick Thomas-Symonds’s decision to revisit who will be eligible for compensation.

That Infected Blood Compensation Authority will be starting 100 new claims every week is a significant step forward to delivering justice for the #infectedblood victims. Those who were infected with HIV have well evidenced claims. They should be a priority and their claims should be started without delay.

Picking claims to go forward randomly by Infected Blood Compensation Authority isn't fair, it's a lottery. Those co-infected have suffered the greatest loss for the longest time. Their claims could be completed quickly - they have all the information needed. We call on Nick Thomas-Symonds to make this happen.
