TIS wore blue today in support of a children's charity, an initiative led by the Grade 5 PYPx group Child Savers. Through ¥100 donations, students helped raise funds for a cause. Thank you to those who participated!

Grade 5 students kicked off their trip to Niigata with sledding, snowball fights & a sword-handling workshop! Grade 4s are off to Yamanashi, stopping at the Narusawa Ice Caves before a forest adventure. More updates from both trips coming soon!

Grade 3–5 students returned from exciting residential trips today! From beaches and farms in Chiba, to Mt. Fuji hikes and stained glass crafts in Kawaguchiko, to outdoor survival and pottery in Niigata, so many memories and lessons to share. Welcome back!

One of our Grade 5 Japanese classes experienced a traditional tea ceremony with tea-grade matcha and beautifully crafted wagashi (Japanese sweets) today. Many thanks to the TIS parent who led the workshop and our special guest who provided the exquisite treats!

Today, we hosted the KPASS ES Choral Festival with 400+ guests from international schools! Huge thank you to guest clinician Prof. Krishan Oberoi, who led workshops and debuted Doyoubi, a stunning piece he composed for the event. An unforgettable day of music!

On Saturday, we celebrated our diverse community at the TIS International Day Fair. With the theme “Celebrating Our Truly International Community,” the event was filled with sights, sounds, and flavors of the world. Thank you to our community for making this day possible!

As part of their How the World Works unit, our G2 visited the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation. This hands-on experience encouraged them to follow their curiosity and make real-world connections as they explored how the natural world and human societies interact

The elective class Discover Japan! explored the world of mochi (sticky rice cakes) this week. Students enjoyed watching mochi puff up on the hot plate and tasted various flavor combinations such as anko (sweet red bean paste), kinako (roasted soybean flour), natto, and more.

Lights, laughter, and mystery! Our Upper School Production Club presented The Alibis by Jonathan Dorf earlier this week. Big thanks to our cast, crew, Instrumental Club for a stunning opening, and our Music & Drama/Theatre teachers for their support!

To celebrate their last field trip and wrap up the year, our Kindergarten explorers visited the Omori Nori Museum. They learned how seaweed goes from sea to table, touched fresh seaweed, and enjoyed a sunny picnic. A joyful end to a year full of learning and friendship!

Our Grade 7 students explored how people respond to natural disasters in an interdisciplinary unit. They met Mr. Beasley from the アメリカ大使館 who shared insights on disaster preparedness, support systems, & global responses, bringing real-world expertise to their IB learning.

Last day of school! Bittersweet as we say goodbye to our leavers. It’s been a year of growth, and in August, we take the next step with our first Grade 11 IBDP class. Next year, we move to TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY! Thank you to our amazing community. See you in August!

Summer Programme is off to a great start! We welcomed returning students and new friends from around the world. First-day nerves quickly gave way to curiosity and fun as students dove into learning and kicked off an exciting new adventure!
