To celebrate Earth Day, Mrs. Cook's AP Environmental Science and Environmental Sciences students took home a tree to plant in their community.

Due to widespread power outages and road closures throughout the district/region, and phone/internet outages on our campuses, the WJHSD will operate on a Flexible Instruction Day on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. State testing will not take place today and will be rescheduled.

April is Autism Acceptance Month. At Gill Hall Elementary School, teachers Alexandra Downer and Angela Coyle asked students and staff to decorate a paper flower representing the different qualities that make us unique. The flowers were hung up in the shape of an infinity symbol.

Although electricity has been restored, phone and internet service is still impacted in every district school. All West Jefferson Hills schools will transition to remote learning on Thursday, May 1, 2025 in the interest of student, faculty, and staff safety.

Congratulations to TJ’s Sylvia Kashak who finished 8th in the state at the PIAA Track and Field Championships at Shippensburg University in the 800m. She set another school record with a time of 2:12.78.

This time of year, there are a lot of goodbyes. But over the past few weeks, there have been plenty of hellos. Members of Big Jag Little Cub met their pen pals when students from Gill Hall and McClellan visited Thomas Jefferson High School for a special pizza lunch and fun.

The TJ Connections parent group provided seniors with breakfast this morning before Commencement practice. TJ Connections also provided an ice cream treat several weeks ago during lunch periods.

Summer starts on Thursday! TJHS and PHMS will dismiss at 10:35 a.m., and JHIS, GHES, and MCES will dismiss at 11:15 a.m. on Thursday, June 5.

Last night, the Class of 2025 heard from three of their classmates who spoke on their legacy and impact and what it means to be a TJ Jaguar.

No time is being wasted in WJHSD! We’re already gearing up for the 2025-2026 school year! A huge thank you to our Facilities Department for clearing out classrooms and kicking off summer cleaning. We appreciate the work that keeps our buildings clean, safe, and ready to go!
