Today's haul cleaning up Pittsburgh's Ohio River resulted in removing 2 bags & a bucket of Litter, 80 plastic bottles, a slide(I think), a mangled & rusty propane tank, boat bumper, basketball + 1 Leech sighting🧐... And a road trip to Australia🇦🇺sounds really enticing🦥

Thank you, Chris Hoffman & KDKA, for telling my Ohio River cleanup story! Chris did an amazing job using drone & video footage showing Pittsburgh'ers the truly sad state of this polluted river and perfectly capturing what a typical cleanup entails for me🌎 cbsnews.com/amp/pittsburgh…

Aquatic Trash Barriers work! This one was installed free of charge by mother nature🌳. Pittsburgh's Ohio River could certainly use man made barriers to help catch & corral our mess. 2 bags today, lid to a trash can, white bucket & another rubber duckie added to the collection😎

My 18,000th plastic bottle removed from Pittsburgh's Ohio River since June 2022. We've turned this great river into a trash can

Removed part of a bicycle, a paddle, umbrella & just a few typical litter items on yesterday's kayak on the Allegheny River. 60 miles upstream from Pittsburgh and 'River Litter' is practically non-existent. Refreshing🌎

Yesterday's haul cleaning up the Allegheny River included part of a bicycle, a paddle, and an umbrella. Unfortunately, if I send a post with more than 1 picture, X automatically silences it. So here's 1 picture. Follow me on IG if you're on that platform...

I've never seen the grass on the bottom of the Allegheny River so brilliantly green💚before. Virtually the entire 9 mile downstream kayak yesterday from Parker towards East Brady was like candy for the eyes🌎

2 hours searching & digging litter/trash out of Pittsburgh's Pine Creek mud today resulted in a full bucket of plastic & glass removed + a mangled 3 legged chair. After a few days without rain, the creek was crystal clear, allowing good vision to clean up the bottom🧐

Much of the glass removed from the mud on Pine Creek yesterday was sharp, broken glass. This has been a theme cleaning up this creek. Don't step into our waterways barefoot

Are you aware of the term 'Jagoff'? In Pittsburgh, we use that word to describe someone acting like a real🤬. I pulled this large truck tire from Pine Creek last week and rolled it to higher ground for pickup. Well, some Jagoff decided to roll it back into the creek😡

Dug a bottle of 'Cherry Blossoms'🍒 out of the Pine Creek mud today. Yet another intact vintage bottle excavated from this creek🧐

That large truck tire... It's officially out of Pine Creek for good. 2 weeks ago, I dragged this tire out of the creek, only to return to see some 🤬 rolled it back in... Yesterday, I threw it on top of my kayak and paddled it out👍

Legend has it there is a Swamp Thing lurking in the waters of Pittsburgh's Pine Creek feeding on broken glass(pictured) & decades old plastic buried in the mud. Please Do Not Feed this unsightly Creature!🧟‍♂️
