NIH has cancelled the 38-year running Pediatric Scientist Development Program Pediatric Scientist Development Program (PSDP) essentially shutting down the pipeline of pediatrician-scientists who would transform child health in the future. This is devastating for the health of our nation's children. 1/2

Because of pediatric-scientists many children now survive leukemia and extreme premature birth, they thrive in the face of previously debilitating chronic disease, and some genetic and infectious diseases have been cured. This decision will cripple the future of child health.2/2
