Having antiquated terminology is confusing and does not represent the important work being done at drop-ins. For those who have no ID, having to go to a voting station with the person who is vouching for you, is unrealistic, can feel stigmatizing/embarrassing. Elections Canada

In addition to hot meals, we also give out bagged lunches that are sometimes the only thing our guests have to eat the next day. Is your faith group/work/friends able to help us make 200 sandwiches monthly or a frequency you're able? Please contact: [email protected]

Bill 6 targets people who are unhoused. They can be incarcerated up to six months or fined up to $10,000. This is a futile investment into punishment instead of supports. Safe consumption sites are being closed which is leading to more public substance use. This is not working!

I wrote to City Council about a "Bubble Zone" by-law. Pluralism and the rights to freedom of assembly and expression are vital to a health democracy. A by-law that restricts these would be unconstitutional, and would further restrict democratic participation for homeless people.

Bill 6 has just been passed, with third reading debate cut to just 9 minutes. Once it receives royal assent, the law will now be to punish people living outdoors with jail time and $10,000 fines. Last year, 80,000 Ontarians were homeless.
