Dear TOMST users, How do you prevent wildlife (🐗wild boar, 🐻bears, 🐵monkeys...) from damaging your equipment in the field🌲🌳? If you have any photos... Thank you😃. Please RT!

To all users of #TMS_loggers - raw #moisture from TOMST is inverted and scaled time-domain transmission signal (doi.org/10.1016/j.agrf…). These numbers are not mm (see bellow). To transform raw signal to #VWC you can use #myClim #Rstats package (doi.org/10.1111/2041-2…)

Really excited to have received our TOMST and directly went out to the beautiful island 🏝️ of Spiekeroog to check out dune microclimates 🌡️💧 @UniOldenburg

Fantastic to see one of our forest monitoring sites and Line Nybakken featured on the front page of NRK today! These sites across Norway will help us better understand how boreal forests will grow under the future climate 🌲🌞🌧️🔥 nrk.no/mr/leter-etter…

TOMST #myClim reading functions got a new parameter *user_data_formats* which allows you to import data from any #microclimate logger for detailed examples see a new vignette showing how to do that with HOBO Data Loggers and #EnvLogger from ElectricBlue labgis.ibot.cas.cz/myclim/article…

🥚Happy Easter to all of you🥚! There's also some fun to be had during challenging field work. The script was created spontaneously based on props from a local general store 😄. To protect the TOMST, we highly recommend the chicken net which inspired us to do so 🐥🐥🐣

NEW paper! We tested 12 different time series gap-filling techniques on a unique dataset from 4400 microclimate sensors to figure out what technique works best. I break it down for you in this story👇 the3dlab.org/2024/04/18/fil…

Why do we use TMS-4 Long (30 cm) instead Standard TOMST? In the peatlands we are exploring, in some places the mosses have grown more than 10 cm. It is great! Here, you can see:

Not all fieldwork pictures are equally breathtaking... The pictures I got from master student Sarane reading out TOMST microclimate sensor data from the cliffs of Freyr might just be what you needed to want to join MIREN rock survey... the3dlab.org/2025/02/03/sen…
