On a sunny walk back from the United Nations Geneva Palais des Nations this morning, we're thankful for our exchange with Tatiana Valovaya, Director-General of UN Geneva. It means a lot to hear that the United Nations values our work and sees the GICHD as an important center of expertise for mine affected countries.

It was a pleasure to meet with Ambassador Tobias Privitelli, Director of the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining today. Thank you for briefing me on the latest activities of GICHD. I look forward to pursuing our collaboration in the months ahead.

Our Director Tobias Privitelli said it is such a pleasure to be back at OHR BiH to meet High Representative Christian Schmidt to discuss mine action in Bosnia & Herzegovina 🇧🇦 and the latest political developments.

We started the week in Sarajevo meeting the Minister of Civil Affairs of Bosnia & Herzegovina 🇧🇦 #DubravkaBošnjak . We talked about the importance of dialogue + cooperation with int. partners and #BiH’s international obligations relating to completing the demining process.

Heartbreaking scenes from Sumy this morning as residents gathered for Palm Sunday only to be met by Russian missiles. Horrific example of Russia intensifying attacks while Ukraine has accepted an unconditional ceasefire. My thoughts are with the Ukrainian people today.

🇧🇯 In Benin, our Director Tobias Privitelli met CPADD 🇧🇯🇫🇷’s Lt-Col Sahgui & national/international partners including Swiss Development and Cooperation🇨🇭to boost mine action ties. #Geneva: Great meeting between our Director, Tobias Privitelli and Dominique Burgeon, Director of FAOGeneva and team. We discussed our joint work in #Ukraine, including research on explosive ordnance and food security, and the potential for deeper collaboration globally.

Today Tobias Privitelli welcomed Tim Lardner, Director, Europe and Central Asia Region UNOPS. We gave an overview of our humanitarian demining activities in Europe & Central Asia, and talked about our joint missions around providing meaningful technical expertise to countries.
