Happy #FossilFriday! Here is a baby of Gavialis on display in Tokyo. Not a fossil, but we will design a reptile exhibition, which includes fossil and extant reptiles later this year!

Happy #FossilFriday! Very nice to see the new publication, which describes Fucaia goedertorum in detail. We have been waiting for this publication for 30 years! The Fucaia lineage is critical, as it also includes the oldest mysticete from the Northern Hemisphere - Fucaia humilis.

Happy #FossilFriday! Designing a mid-term exam for my Introduction to Paleontology course, which has more than 200 students, is tough and time-consuming. I need more desserts from Kumiko!

Happy #ScienceSaturday! Yesterday, we published a male Denisovan from Taiwan in Science. Then, very happy to see that Nature is very efficient in introducing our research, and includes Cheng-Han's illustration!

Happy #MaleMonday! Very pleased to coauthor this Science paper - we confirmed the occurrence of a male Denisovan from Taiwan. So proud to put the original publication in Science and a short piece by Nature on the outside wall of my lab.

Happy #FossilFriday! While we reexamined the type specimens of Toyotamaphimeia taiwanicus, we realized that this tiny bone is a frontal instead of the parietal, as originally identified in 1972. More interestingly, it then belongs to a small individual - the skull reconstructed!
