In 2024 we hosted six Renters' Forums across New South Wales focused on listening to renter led stories, solutions and ideas. We heard from diverse rooms of renters and have put together a report showcasing our take. Please join us for our online launch: tinyurl.com/377vwbwa

The threat of being evicted for no fault stopped renters from feeling safe in asserting their rights for too long. This win and removal of no grounds evictions is truly a testament to decades of community advocacy and action. Goodbye and good riddance no grounds.

From 19 May 2025, the landlord/agent must allow a fee-free and accessible option for paying your rent. Landlords, agents and third party companies are also no longer allowed to charge prospective renters for background checks when applying for a rental property.
