We’ve battled yellow star thistle in this block for 4 years. No-till hasn’t been enough, so we’re using a spader to break up compaction and get it before seeds mature. This fall we’ll seed clovers to outcompete it. Limited tillage, but sometimes it’s the right call.

Introducing the 2024 Patelin de Tablas Blanc in a 3L box, just in time for summer! With bag-in-box packaging, it stays fresh for weeks after opening, takes up less space, and has a lower carbon footprint. Vibrant notes of tropical fruit, kiwi, and a mineral finish.

These flowering insectaries we planted a few years ago are now buzzing with life. They attract pollinators and predators that support a healthy ecosystem that helps us farm with fewer inputs and more resilience, from the ground up.

We kept sheep out of this Cinsaut block because it was too wet to risk compaction. The result? A towering cover crop and a perfect crimping opportunity. Crimping folds grasses into a mulch layer that preserves soil health and moisture. Jason explains in the video.

It’s a tradition to mark the summer solstice with a walk through the vineyard. While it’s not one of the big milestones like budbreak or harvest, it offers a valuable snapshot, and this year’s view is looking ideal. Get the full rundown in the blog: tablascreek.typepad.com/tablas/2025/06…

Up close, a Roussanne leaf becomes a mosaic of green and gold. Note that the leaf’s veins are more than decorative; they’re lifelines. This Roussanne leaf is busy channeling water and nutrients, fueling the photosynthesis that ripens each cluster of grapes.

Next up, let's resurface this video of Cesar Perrin giving us the French pronunciation of each of the six white Chateauneuf du Pape varieties we grow at Tablas Creek. Note on special characters: "ã" is pronounced like "ahng" but without the hard 'g' sound.

Farming on the west side of Paso Robles requires hard work and a lot of rock removal. We recently tilled this vineyard block and removed boulders to ensure the tractor could access it. It's a reminder of the 140 acres of rock removal our crew had to do to plant our vineyard!

We'd like to take a moment to thank the honeybees. The inhabitants of our hives labor away, ensuring pollination of the diverse perennials that populate our vineyard. Bees are essential to our regenerative farming program and, more broadly, to agriculture and life on Earth!

Cellar Master Amanda Collins captured this beautiful barrel lineup mid-rack: Counoise (right), Grenache (center), Syrah (far). We're blending 2024 reds now, and the lees? They head to our compost pile to help break down vineyard prunings.

Check out the vigor of this Mourvèdre vine on Scruffy Hill! Head-trained and dry-farmed, it’s six feet tall with canes stretching nearly eight. Mourvèdre is usually late and reserved, but when it’s happy, it puts on a show.

We just released our 2024 Grenache Blanc! We fell for this grape when we first bottled the 2002 vintage for its rich yet bright flavors with citrus pith, caramel apple, and that green apple snap we love. A star in blends, but it shines solo too. Cheers! tablascreek.com/wines/2024_gre…
