In 2021, I asked the Conservatives to ensure that children don’t go hungry. They ignored me. I’m so glad that Labour has just announced that over half a million more children will benefit from free school meals. It’s necessary to ensure that children get the best start in life.

From September 2026, every child whose household is on Universal Credit will be entitled to a free school meal. This will mean a hot, healthy meal for over 20,000 children across Coventry and up to nearly £500 a year back in parents’ pockets.

Today we remember the courage and sacrifice of all those who took part in the D-Day landings 81 years ago. I honour those who fought for freedom and peace in Normandy. Their legacy lives on in the values we uphold. Let us never forget the price paid for our liberty.

Honoured to attend the historic enthronement of Bishop Sophie Jelley, the first woman Bishop of Coventry. A proud moment for our city and a powerful step forward for representation and inclusion in the Church. Congratulations, Bishop Sophie!

It was great to be out in Jubilee Crescent recently with Coventry Police and Simon Foster. I wanted to follow up on my last video to show the different key takeaways from the visit. Thank you to those who spoke with us!

Yesterday’s Spending Review outlined some important national priorities—like boosting public services, investing in infrastructure, and supporting economic growth. I’ll keep doing everything I can to make sure that ambition turns into real results for people here in Coventry.

I know many in our community are still seeking answers after the heartbreaking death of Keaton Slater last year. I wanted to share an update on the steps I’m taking to support the Slaters and push for progress toward securing justice.

Wonderful to be out volunteering with parkrun last weekend! I'd highly recommend either joining or volunteering at your local parkrun. I always love seeing the community come together, exercise, and be so supportive of each other!

Today we remember Jo Cox. Her legacy continues to inspire many of us in public life. Jo believed that “we have more in common than that which divides us” – a message that feels as urgent today as ever. We honour her commitment to compassion and courage in the face of division.
