A2) Engagement stems from motivation. Student choice greatly contributes to motivation, and thus to engagement. When they r active agents of their learning, they become more invested in their learning. #satchat

A3) The great thing about engagement is you immediately see if something is effective or not. Are Ss bored out of their minds, or is there a sense of excitement & buy in? The key is to be consciously aware of their non-verbal & verbal feedback. #satchat

A3) U also want to look for ways to continue that kind of excitement & engagement while mixing it up. Always doing the same thing becomes boring, so look at the "type" of things that work (is it engaging b/c it's hands on? collaborative? something that Ss created/design? #satchat

A4) Be intentional & make time for reflection. It can be as simple as writing a few notes in a lesson or unit plan afterwards. If you don't plan for reflection, it won't happen. #satchat

A5) To begin, having books that reflect our Ss. They need to see themselves in our classrooms & in our schools. They need to be seen. #satchat

A6) Classroom management b/c you if you can't manage the class, then engagement will only take you so far. Both go hand in hand, but getting those procedures & protocols in place really is key for everything else to fall into place. #satchat

We are finally returning to campus. We are not allowed to teach from there, but we can do asesorias presenciales, so in person interventions & support, w/up to 9 Ss a teacher. Time to figure out a new thing. #pd4uandme
