I like many have felt sick about the racial abuse Stan Grant has experienced and the bullying from media that should know better. Stan and I have often talked about how hostile it is to be identified publicly through the lens of your diversity. The hate has to stop.

My thoughts on the shameful, relentless racial vilification of leading First Nations journalist, Stan Grant and his subsequent resignation from Q&A. It only strengthens the need for change.

Stan Grant is one of the great communicators of our country. Again & again he tries to explain the pain & the hurt & the injustice lived by First Nations people... injustices most of us don't notice let alone understand. Stan writes to heal and we are lucky for that. Sorry Stan.

Today I met with Stella Assange and Jen Robinson with a multipartisan group of MPs advocating for the release of Julian Assange. As a former journalist I believe being jailed for telling the truth, no matter how unfortunate that truth, is wrong. I hope to see Julian home soon.

People with disabilities are disproportionately affected by displacement: their journey can be more challenging and they often lack access to services. UNHCR is working towards ensuring our offices and services are accessible to everyone. #GAAD
