America's first mass-produced combat tank. The M3 Lee's unusual configuration of hull-mounted 75 mm gun and turret-mounted 37 mm cannon was a result of the rush to get the vehicle in production following Germany's rapid advances in Europe. Footage courtesy of British Pathé

This is the Praying Mantis, a bizarre and unique British prototype from WWII. The vehicle was difficult to control, and induced sickness in the crew(!) - the plan was therefore abandoned in 1944. The sole surviving example is part of our collection, here at The Tank Museum.
