Excited to announce that the Loh lab will open in August Yale West Campus’s Institute for Biomolecular Design and Discovery! Our lab will use chemo-proteomic tools to study peripheral neurobiology in adipose tissue and the pancreas. We are hiring at all levels, please DM!

The talks on the first day are seriously mind-blowing, but the one that speaks deeply to me is Jenny Molloy Open Bioeconomy Lab. She talked real about challenges faced by researchers at LMICs, and how to make synthetic biology truly accessible across the globe.

Honestly and by far the best conference I have had the chance to participate in. Thank you so much Nagehan Ramazanoğlu Bahadır Tom Ellis Katie Galloway Yas Sonja Billerbeck for creating such a stimulating yet relaxing learning/networking experience. My team and I learned so much.

Melioidosis provides one of the strongest use cases for a POC test which informs timely treatment and save lives. Clinical data in the paper (collected over 3 yrs @ disease epicenter) are depressing. Claire Chewapreecha and Pop Wongpalee have provided a glimmer of hope with their work.

We Rivera-Fuentes Lab developed a novel far-red fluorescent probe for detecting S. aureus in pateint sample in collaboration with Vishwachi Tripathi Benedict Morin Aya Iizuka (@ayaiizuka.bsky.social 🦋) BumannLab Nina Khanna Lab NCCR AntiResist It is also blink that is suitable for SMLM. 🤩

Meeting so many new people at the Division de Chémobiologie meeting but there is one familiar face - Olalla Vázquez. We overlapped 18 years ago (!) at Verdine lab and have had mutual close friends. Great to see you in person again and hear of your awesome science!!

Spent a fulfilling day learning from Roman Jerala, Ajasja 💻🧬🔬 and Mojca at Kemijski inštitut. Got to share our work on condensates for diagnostics, receive advice on protein design, coiled coils & apps to the clinic, and learn of crazy cool work built here for gene/cell therapy!

Glad to be a part of this initiative by eLife - the journal and eLife Community to promote open science efforts in the Global South

Always great to see Jenny Molloy, this time at ICGEB Official! Lots of discussion/brainstorming on protein engineering, manufacturing, policies, all of which paired well with great coffee in Trieste :)

Melioidosis kills 40% of cases, yet diagnosis remains a challenge. Many patients died before the arrival of a culture-confirmed diagnosis. With Pop Wongpalee and Tao Uttamapinant, we developed and validated a rapid test for melioidosis👇thelancet.com/journals/lanmi…
