Welcome back Tara! The schooner returns to her base today after sailing for 18 months along the European coast for the #EMBLTREC expedition. TREC scientists, and representatives from EMBL and the Tara Ocean Foundation, gathered in Lorient to celebrate the end of the expedition.

📢On Saturday, we had the great opportunity to accompany the Fondation Tara Océan research schooner on its last few miles to its home port in Lorient, France! Accompanied by EMBL's mobile laboratories, Tara's return was followed by two days of celebratory talks, workshops, games & more!

If you are looking for a week end treat… Plankton/protist community get ready; this is really beautiful and I’m so grateful our field can now have access to such approaches, and that EMBLtrec has made it possible. Congrats @F_Mikus Armando R Hiral Shah (and your PIs 😙)
