After three years of hard work, I've finally submitted my PhD thesis today! Extremely grateful to my wonderful supervisors: Professor Scott Johnson and @blinkybenjy

Check out our new paper in #ProcB Royal Society Publishing investigating how wheat defence strategies shift from silicon- to carbon-based under elevated CO2 royalsocietypublishing.org/doi/10.1098/rs…

JOB ALERT! Open-ended post with me The University of Sheffield on plant silicon & its role in sustainable, climate resilient agriculture🌾🌱 #siliceousplants Ref UOS031794 on Uni web, closes 25th Mar. DM for more info Julia Cooke Professor Scott Johnson Félix de Tombeur & Si researchers please RT!

New Publication Alert! Thrilled to share our latest paper out in Ecological Entomology . We show that plant-mediated interactions between herbivorous insects can be impacted by plant silicon defences. Professor Scott Johnson @blinkybenjy Check it out resjournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.11…

Excited to share that I've started my postdoc in entomology at #Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. My research at Rutgers will focus on IPM of the annual bluegrass weevil, particularly by using #silicon fertilisation and entomopathogenic nematodes. Rutgers Entomology

Thrilled to see our new Functional Ecology Functional Ecology out verifying some of our lab findings in the field. Elevated atmospheric CO2 suppresses silicon accumulation and exacerbates endophyte reductions in plant phosphorus dx.doi.org/10.1111/1365-2… #siliceousplants

Check out our new pub! Here we look at the interactions of silicon and endophytes on insect immune responce! doi.org/10.1111/1365-2… Professor Scott Johnson Sue Hartley @rputrabio Tarikul Islam

New Publication Alert! Thrilled to share our latest paper out in Frontiers - Plant Science. We show that silicon-mediated herbivore defences in a pasture grass is greatest under reduced CO2 Professor Scott Johnson A/Prof. Christopher Cazzonelli Check it out

Had a great conference! It was wonderful talking about #plant_silicon defenses against #herbivorous_insects at the ESA annual meeting #EntSoc23 Entomological Society of America

Our new paper is out in #Physiological_Entomology with A/Prof. Christopher Cazzonelli and Professor Scott Johnson. We asked: Can #plant_silicon_defence interfere with carotenoid sequestration and green cryptic colouration in insect larvae? Check out the answer 👇 resjournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/ph…
