It’s that time of year again! Here in Tarleton on the Rufford branch of the Liverpool Leeds Canal with Canal & River Trust North West Ribble Rivers Trust and volunteers clearing floating pennywort #INNSWeek Read more about why we do this work canalrivertrust.org.uk/things-to-do/c…
As it's Invasive Non-Native Species (INNS) week, the Douglas Catchment partnership have helped us to remove floating pennywort from the #RuffordBranch of the #LeedsLiverpoolCanal. We have arranged repeat visits over the growing season as this plant is very difficult to eradicate 👏👏
Day two of The Wild Trout Trust Urban River Conclave was brimmed full of informative and interesting presentations. We discussed some of the fantastic work the Yorkshire Rivers Trusts are doing, we talked all about INNS and we talked all about the amazing work volunteers do and more..
What an absolutely fantastic turnout for the collaboration balsam pulling volunteer day down in Tawd Valley Park. The small army which included Ribble Rivers Trust, WLBC Rangers, United Utilities River Rangers, FoTV volunteers worked hard to clear large patches of balsam today. TY.
MORE NEWT ACTION TODAY!!! This morning we were at the Damselfly Wetland conducting our pond dipping surveys and water quality monitoring. We had some fantastic results. All data collected is sent to the Ribble Rivers Trust for analysis.
Huge well done to all the volunteers, experts & partners (including Groundwork in Cheshire, Lancashire & Merseyside colleagues) who made the Friends of Tawd Valley Bioblitz a huge success at the weekend. 300 different species were identified. Your commitment to conservation is truly remarkable! (pics c/o Friends of Tawd Valley)
