“There’s gold in them there.. erm.. coals” Today at 15:00 (Stevenson lecture theatre) I’m talking about Pt-rich gold in Irish coals, sourced from metalliferous groundwaters. SGA 2019: Glasgow, 27-30 August 2019 SosMinErals TeaSe

The SosMinErals session SGA 2019: Glasgow, 27-30 August 2019 getting underway today with a TeaSe keynote from Sarah Hayes USGS on the challenges of extracting Te & Ge as byproducts of Cu & Zn

@KarenLikesRocks Michael Anenburg UNLVGeoscience Crucial question; Nedal Nasser and others USGS Minerals are working on this and I’ve done some here myself. Watch this space for Mo and Re (we’ve done indium somewhat already). TeaSe can also comment here I think. Happy to pass papers on etc...

Fuelling up ready to head to Halifax - visiting SMUGeology to give a seminar on our Cardiff School of Earth & Environmental Sciences and TeaSe work on volatiles on the Bushveld Complex, and to have a go on a micro-raman. Looking forward to setting up some new collaborations :) #postdoc #science

Excellent seminar today at Monash Earth, Atmosphere and Environment 🌏🌪️🍃 by Prof David Holwell from TeaSe, discussing the links between #gold and #tellurium from partial melting of mantle sulphides, all the way to near-surface epithermal deposits!

Our new TeaSe paper, written by Joe Armstrong, is online in Ore Geology Reviews sciencedirect.com/science/articl… Kilometre-scale compartmentalization of fluid sources to a fossil hydrothermal system Aberdeen Geology & Geophysics Adrian Boyce

Getting all armoured up ready to melt rocks in a furnace at 1000°C. My inner 5 year old is loving this! 😛 Doing my favourite lab technique today - Ni-S fire assay for PGE 🔥 How do they vary between porphyry Cu deposits? 🤔 #postdoc #LabLife Cardiff School of Earth & Environmental Sciences TeaSe

PhD in mineral chemistry/ore metallurgy? We are looking for someone to join us Geology at Leicester to work on technology metal endowment of orebodies and minewaste and their sustainable extraction. jobs.le.ac.uk/vacancies/ #2711

Fantastic to see the Natural Environment Research Council “Forward look for environmental science” citing innovative work on metal recycling by University of Leicester geoscientists and chemists Leicester Chemistry forming DEScycle This grew out of the NERC TeaSe project. ukri.org/publications/n…
