As we wrap up Teacher Appreciation Week, we want to express our gratitude for our teachers and all they do in our schools. Our students look at you as a source of daily inspiration and your compassion in your classroom shows. We're over the moon about you!

One of the ways we support for our incoming teachers is weekly Zoom calls, which leads up to the start of the Summer Institute. Each week topics are discussed to prepare each cohort for their move to Louisville. We are excited to have them begin life in our hometown this week!

On May 11th, we honored those who completed their master's program in their initial two years of teaching. This group has faced unique challenges through COVID and we are especially proud of them. Congratulations to all graduates!

We are excited to have our 23/24 cohort class in town, preparing them to start to teaching this fall. They are currently attending our Summer Institute. They are an inspiration to be around and we are so glad they have chosen this profession of education. @jcpsky KY Dept of Education

Melissa Shearon says to put yourself in situations. Even though networking can be considered a "gross" word sometimes, it's not when it's for the kids in your career and you want to meet people and find your place. Do you have any networking techniques that helped you succeed?

On Saturday night, our new teacher cohorts were invited to a welcome dinner from one of our generous supporters. Our newest cohorts, retired teacher advocates, friends of Teach Kentucky, and staff enjoyed a night of community, conversation, and dinner catered by Ramsi's Cafe.

Last week, we made our office on Barret Ave our permanent home. A big thanks to Jon Baughman at Stock Yards Bank and Trust for all his assistance with the purchase. We look forward to being a permanent fixture in the Louisville community for years to come.

Summer Institute wrapped up with the Excellence in Teaching Symposium held on July 21. We were joined by Class Act FCU, @americorps, and several of our retired teachers. Thanks to everyone for sharing their experience as our new teachers prepare to lead classrooms in @jcpsky.
