Get to meet my new class tomorrow. It will be very different meeting EYFS for transition (with their parents) to what I have been used in recent years but I can’t wait.

I had a cry at lunch today. I find change hard and was super emotional setting up for open evening in my room when I won’t be in it. I’ve made that room my home from home the last 5 years. And been KS2 the last 10. End of an era. New adventures to be had. And back to my roots.

Things I loved about being in my new room for open evening tonight: *parents told me their child went home happy after visiting our EFYS setting yesterday. *children yesterday wanted to come up and say hello and tell me things. They remembered me ❤️ *parents were happy.

I have 4 days of school left until summer hols. Not emptied my classroom. Can’t move into my new room as is being decorated in the summer so have to leave my stuff in a tiny side room. I have SO much stuff. I can’t tell you how many times I cried today throwing stuff out.

Another reason TAs are amazing? Mine helped me remove around 80% of my classroom bits into storage today. Kept me calm. Helped me throw away things I won’t need. Love her lots. Am stealing her and taking her to EYFS with me as can’t cope without her hahaha ❤️❤️

My last PHSE lesson in year 4. Architects, detectives, doctors, teachers, car engineers, pro climbers, authors, nurses, clothes designers… the privilege of being of being a teacher is letting your class dream big and believe in themselves and their dreams ❤️

One of my favourite weeks of teaching is the last week of school. I decided a few years ago I couldn’t cope with filler work or ‘activity books’ so decided to end the year with an old school project. And I adore bees so made sense. Day one of the week complete!

Today I did a quiz ‘how well do you know your teacher.’ I felt really emotional that the children knew me inside out. Correctly said I like to read when I’m not at work and if I wasn’t a teacher, would want to be an author. New bookshelves up tonight. Yeah my class nailed me.

I know the cynics will say ‘didn’t happen.’ But… In my ‘how well do you know your teacher’ quiz I asked who is my favourite pupil? EVERY team said ‘ALL OF US.’ I asked what does Miss Eccles always say? EVERY team said I remind them ‘once in 4CE, you’re always in 4CE.’
