Hold each other accountable! Talk! Talk! Talk! BAD teammates never talk AVERAGE teammates talk when winning GOOD teammates talk often GREAT teammates never stop talking CHAMPIONSHIP teammates always talk about talking more... in practice, huddles, at halftime, in time outs!

Giving 98% effort isn't always enough to win a game. It's often the extra 2% that makes all the difference. You have to dig deep and find the extra reserve of motivation inside of you!

PLAYERS: College coaches learn about recruits by watching more than just the game. They pay attention to body language. They watch pregame warmups. They observe you talking w/ people before & after. The best teams want people who are good fits and not just the most talented!

Kids who are dependent on constant praise/attention have the biggest fear of competition, & worse, losing. Sports loses so many kids because they can’t overcome those fears. Teach kids to be independent/confident. Success doesn’t come from “feel good” awards, but from hard work!

Everyone wants the result of greatness but avoids the work required to get there. It’s boring. It’s a sacrifice. It’s inconvenient. It’s a commitment to show up each day, do the work and live the standard. It’s a lifestyle of being disciplined. The work is the shortcut. 🪵🪓

The silent destroyer of any Teams culture is the person who sees themselves as PRIVILEGED and under a different set of guidelines than everybody else. It never ends well.

It doesn’t matter if you started last year or last month! No spot is promised. If somebody comes back from the off season & is a better player, a harder worker, more dedicated, they can/will take your spot. Playing time is earned everyday in practice. Hard work is the separator!
