Excellent biography of an extraordinary life. Not an introduction to Bauman's ideas but a book about Bauman as a person and the social contexts of his life, incl. WWII in Poland and Russia, communist Poland until 68, short period in Israel, and Leeds from early 70s onwards.

The print version of Digital Religion handbook is finally out. It has 37 chapters and one of them is my "Secularism, Atheism, and Digital Media".

Manuscript review compensation: a selection of #secularism, #nonreligion, and #atheism books plus an edited volume on Deleuze and pragmatism.

I'm still here in the graveyard, but just started my account in another platform. I may post something here every now and then, but it is time to explore other options.

It is telling that "other disciplines" section contains far more interesting, inspiring, and plausible approaches to religion and humour than "comparative religion" and "theological" ones. The book itself is a useful overview of approaches to religion and humour.

Great cover image! (and content, too, if I may say so, as it includes, among other contributions, my short take on the aura of authenticity in defining religion in law, using the Jedi charity case as an example.)

Got myself a set of NYU Press publications. Mostly about atheism and religion, particularly in relation to race, media, and public spaces. Lemke's Foucauldian evaluation of new materialism is also interesting.

Contract signed for edited volume. This should be out in (early) 2026.

Proofing was the first task for 2025. This is going to be published in an edited volume "A Practical Guide to Critical Religion" (Bloomsbury)

In a few months, about 10 per cent of people I follow here have deleted their accounts and many more are inactive. Many of them have moved to another place. That's where I am more active, too.
