TODAY IS INTERNATIONAL VOLUNTEERS DAY! It's an annual event that honours the invaluable work of volunteers, so on this day we'd like to say 'Thank you!' to our amazing volunteers who give up there free time to help us look after Teesmouth National Nature Reserve. 👏👏

Last Sunday (12th) we welcomed the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) to co-host a Winter Seal Watch with us at Teesmouth. Thanks to Alison Pake, Volunteer Marine Mammal Medic, BDMLR; Mike Nixon, Teesmouth NNR volunteer who supports on events; Emma Thompson for photo's.

We were joined by Richard Cowen, Leader, RSPB Durham Local Group this afternoon on our Winter Bird Watch. It was a chilly day so we were glad to take some shelter from the cold in our bird hide overlooking the Seal Sands. Our next Winter Bird Watch is on the 4/2/25, 13:00-1500hrs

Thanks to our volunteers who were at North Gare today doing a litter pick and removing larger items from the beach and dunes. They've prevented it from being washed back out to sea and harming marine mammals & birds! 👏👏
