When The Times is defending civil liberties against a Labour government led by a former human rights barrister, you know this country is in deep trouble. Just 22 MPs voted against the proscription of Palestine Action. The rest enabled it. Shame on them.

Today has been lots of fun dancing at the Angel of the North with Lindy Jazz and Swingfit. We were being filmed for a bit of national TV.

My studio desk is currently covered in piles of old sketchbooks going back years. This small A5 sketch of a singer I knew well is a standout for me. It was done live whilst he was fronting his band in a pub in North Shields.
