"We need the Labour Council to make a sharp U-turn on this crazy idea. This is a prime site and we have a once in a generation opportunity to transform it into something distinctive for the benefit of residents and visitors alike." ~ CLLR Tess Read ➡️exeter.greenparty.org.uk/news/2024/09/2… 3/3

❗️#Exeter Labour abandon green energy heating schemes at RAMM & Riverside Leisure Centre. 🤔 Is this Labour throwing in the towel on cutting carbon emissions and energy bills? 🖥 Watch Green cllr Diana Moore's reaction on BBC South West tonight.

We really need better ideas than this for #Exeter city centre. We could do so much more - there is no play park in the centre of Exeter. And why do places much smaller like Crediton, Tiverton have so much better markets than Exeter, a city not a town. Do better Exeter City Council!

Thanks to a campaign of letter-writing ,questions to Council and my question at Scrutiny Exeter City Council has FINALLY divested from Barclays AND is proposing to look into an overarching ESG policy for all Treasury operations. Green activists and Green Councillors get green results!

So delighted that Exeter City Council have FINALLY divested from the fossil fuel investing Barclays Bank. It was a long fought campaign with lots of different people involved in lots of ways. Thank you everyone who made this happen! #climate #ClimateAction #fossilfuels #GreenParty

This bollard at Cathedral Green in #exeter was damaged, and now it looks like it is running away! Fear not, I reported it immediately and so Exeter City Council was able to check the CCTV and find the offending van who will be made to pay for the damage. #greenpower #wework4u

What will University of Exeter do? Would make no sense to ignore their own climate scientists. And will Exeter City Council follow suit? Given net zero is the realms of pure fantasy and everyone in the council knows it, time to be honest with the public about what we can actually do now?

Oh come on Labour - so depressing to hear Pat McFadden say UK has no plans for a youth mobility scheme with the EU. We have schemes with NZ, Australia, Canada, Japan, Iceland, Uruguay - only reason not to have one with EU is fear of right wing press. Such cowardice Laura Kuenssberg
