Some homeless struggle with transition to housing after years in camps. ‘Survivor guilt’ and other issues can lead to violations of lease terms in rapid housing. ajc.com/news/atlanta-n…

Fun Fact: Homelessness also costs taxpayers. In fact, it costs less to provide safe housing to end homelessness than it does to manage homelessness indefinitely — particularly through health care and criminal justice costs. The healthiest choice is also the cheapest.

It's wild how "tough on crime" Elenore Sturko demands the government to be "tough on crime"... except for when it applies to *apparent* breaches of law that involve herself.

Can you believe we live in a world where people who own homes argue against housing the homelessness? Especially when it's in the community they live in🤯 News flash homeowners .... the unhoused are part of the community too, and in need of support.

My op-ed for Toronto Star: when it comes to encampments, Doug Ford is looking south of the border when he should be looking west. Ontario is importing failed American policies to punish homelessness, while Manitoba is doing what works: housing people. thestar.com/opinion/contri…

Wow! Look what you can do if you REALLY want to! In #yyj its lies & broken promises & whining that it’s out of their hands. All while our friends and family suffer and die at the hands of police & bylaw. Shame on them all. Vote them out. #housingisahumanright#yyjpoli

This is shocking. Since Doug Ford shut down supervised consumption sites, drop-in programs are seeing massive increases in overdoses — including a 288% increase just last month. Overdoses don't go away; they get moved to spaces with fewer supports and resources.
