Dave’s heartfelt poetry advocates for those affected by blindness and low vision, and combined with Rebecca Price’s illustrations, the story helps readers to understand what sight loss may look like for the visually impaired, and the aids they may use.

Accessible to all; the story can be read aloud by a sighted partner, or you can listen to the story read by the author himself, through a QR code or a PENfriend, meaning it can be read independently.

It’s National Storytelling Week 2025, and to celebrate of the power of accessible stories, CBN’s Mentor Lead Helen Blair interviews Dave Steele - AKA the The Blind Poet - about his children’s book, The Big Test, and what storytelling means to him. Link in bio 📚
