Paola from The Candy Bar at College and Ossington suggested I try an oat milk chocolate bar, which really adds a strong nutty overtone to the chocolate. Reminds me of a very rich hot chocolate made with oat milk. Pretty cool. Qantu is a Montreal maker.
She also recommended this durian bar from Vancouver's Kasama. I tend to stay away from novelty bars but this one really captures the essence of durian and the white chocolate acts as a nice vehicle to carry the yogurt-y, cheesecake-y, savoury flavours
Highly recommend you stop by, even if you're not going there for your Halloween needs. You can spend $5 on bulk candy, or $50 on a limited edition bar made from foraged cacao.
I'm at the Candy Bar at College and Ossington and its owner Paola tells me she got a shipment of Bubs, a Swedish vegan candy company thats currently trending on TikTok and sure enough, a student came in and asked specifically for them cause she saw them online.
