Georgy Girl (1966). Throughout most of the movie I was all, what the hell is this? And then by the end, I was all smiles and ooey gooey.

“I don't always have to sing a song. There is something besides 'The Man That Got Away' or 'Over the Rainbow' or 'The Trolley Song.' There's a woman. There are three children. There's me! There's a lot of life going here.” Happy Judy Garland Day to all who celebrate. #botd

Remembering Nina Mae McKinney, #botd in 1912. Described as the "Black Garbo" and Hollywood's first black movie star, McKinney was a standout as in Hallelujah (1929) and Safe in Hell (1931). Historian Donald Bogle once called her “energy incarnate and delirious fun to watch.”

Remembering Priscilla Lane, born on today’s date in 1915. Loved her best in Four Daughters and The Roaring Twenties, and Saboteur is on my watchlist. Her sisters, Rosemary, Lola, and Gale were in the movies as well.
