I mean, I can see a more permanent solution: "The PNAS Editorial Board to ask for your [temporary] assistance ... The Editorial Board occasionally seeks experts outside of the NAS to serve as editors ... when there is not adequate representation within the Academy."

Whether in industry, academia, or government, "leadership" has become a title to defend rather than an activity to be carried out. We all suffer the consequences through stagnation, at best, and exploitation, at worst. nytimes.com/2024/10/20/opi…

Dear Glenn "GT" Thompson, The Commonwealth receives $2.8b in NIH funding. PA-15 receives $122m. That pays salaries, state income taxes, rents, property taxes, sales taxes in your district. Please stand up for Pennsylvanians.

Dear Glenn "GT" Thompson Pennsylvania's 15th congressional district received $89m in funding from NSF in 2024. That $ paid for salaries, state income tax, rents, property taxes, and sales taxes. Federal shut downs hurt PA communities and cost PA jobs.

Hey Glenn "GT" Thompson -- Trumps announcement of 15% indirect rate on NIH grants reneges on $122 million in contracts with Penn State ... the largest employer in your district. That seems like something you might want to push back on.

Hey Dave McCormick -- Trump's announcement of 15% indirects on NIH grants reneges on $1.22b in contracts with PA universities and businesses. That's money not going into salaries for Pennsylvanians. You might consider pushing back on that.
