On #FridayBee #beefriday. I’m BUZZING to share that we found about 12 Redtail #bumblebeequeens feeding on the #camassia on a #bumblebeesafari @yeoorganicgarden #BombusLapidarius was 1 of the worst affected BBs last season. I had not seen a single example. we hit the jackpot!

This time of year I see lots of male Green Longhorn Moths (Adela reaumurella) in our #Staffs garden. I don't recollect ever seeing a female until this one yesterday. The antennae are much shorter than in the male. #moths

Yesterday. It was the day of the Rose Chafer, as dozens of them descended upon our Choisya ternata. Such a joy to experience this encounter. Seen in lesser numbers this morning, but still more than we’ve seen before. #beetles

1/8 I'm going to celebrate #WorldBeeDay2025 with eight special British Bees I've seen in the past few weeks and the lovely places where they live. This is a queen Brown-banded Carder Bee Bombus humilis at Church Ope, Isle of Portland, Dorset on 27 April.
